How to sell launchpad tokens without dumping the launch.
Pons, LONG, Bankr and fresh launches in general: what goes wrong with a market sell in a new pool, how to sell into the buyers a launch brings, and when a launch pool can be sold into.

A new launch is the thinnest pool it will ever be, and the one people watch most closely. Holders, bots and launch feeds see every trade. An early wallet market-selling into it prints the candle that ends the run, and other holders often sell after it.
If you are the creator, it is worse: the deployer wallet is watched, and one sell from it reads as the team leaving.
What usually goes wrong
Market-selling into a thin pool. A sale that is small in dollars can be large next to a new pool. Estimate the price impact before you click.
Selling in the first minutes. Liquidity is at its thinnest and the chart moves the most, so an early sell looks like a sniper cashing out.
Selling a creator allocation in one go. One large sell from the deployer wallet is the screenshot everyone shares.
Splitting it by hand. Each chunk still sells into the bids, and a string of red candles from one wallet is easy to follow.
Sell into the launch's demand
A fresh launch has the one thing a seller needs: buyers. Place your tokens just above the price and they sell only as those buyers lift it: little when it's quiet, more when it runs. Nothing is market-sold into the bids. Your tokens are still supply the price has to get through, and a fill isn't guaranteed.
The pool has to qualify first: a supported pool, at least $25,000 of liquidity, over $1,000 traded in 24 hours and at least one buy in the last day. The first minutes of a launch are usually too early; once it has liquidity and buyers, check it in the ticket.
- 01
Check the token in the ticket. If its pool doesn't qualify yet, the ticket says which check failed.
- 02
Pick the pace. ASAP sells as buyers come in; a Target waits for a market cap you choose, and a Range scales out across a band. Each runs up to a week.
- 03
Send the tokens to your Unwind wallet. The minimum sale is $25 on Base and BNB Chain, and $50 on Robinhood Chain.
- 04
Share the sale page if you're the creator. Holders can follow it, and every transaction links to the explorer. Proceeds and anything unsold go to your receiving address when it ends.
Launched in a pool with a hook
Launchpads create a token and its first pool in one step. Most now use Uniswap v4, where a pool can carry a hook: code that runs on swaps or on liquidity changes, for launch fees, anti-sniping rules or price curves.
For a seller, the hook decides what's possible. A hook that acts on swaps is fine to sell into. A hook that can block or take a cut when liquidity is removed is a risk for anyone who places liquidity in that pool.
Pons
Pons is a launchpad on Robinhood Chain, and PONS is its own token. Newer Pons launches start on a bonding curve and graduate to a Uniswap v4 pool. While a token is still on the curve there's no pool to sell into; once it trades on Uniswap, it goes through the usual checks.
LONG (long.xyz)
LONG launches trade against Robinhood's stock tokens, such as NVDA or TSLA, in Uniswap v4 pools with Doppler's hook. Unwind has reviewed that hook: it can't take or hold back liquidity on the way out. The stock token then has to be convertible to USDG for the sale to be priced and paid.
Clanker
Clanker tokens trade in Uniswap v4 pools whose hook only limits adding liquidity for a couple of minutes after launch. After that, the pool can be sold into like any other, once it has the liquidity and buyers.
Every other launchpad
Other launchpads' pools go through the same check. A hook that only acts on swaps is fine. If a hook runs when liquidity is removed and Unwind hasn't reviewed it, Unwind won't place a sale in that pool, and the ticket says the pool type isn't supported yet.
Questions
How soon after launch can I sell?
As soon as the pool passes the checks: at least $25,000 of liquidity, over $1,000 traded in 24 hours and a buy in the last day. A token still on a bonding curve, like a new Pons launch before it graduates, has no pool to sell into yet.
Can I sell my creator allocation?
If it's a normal token in your wallet, yes, as long as its pool passes the checks. Locked or vesting allocations can be sold once they're unlocked and in your wallet.
Will selling hurt the launch?
Your tokens are supply the price has to get through, so buyers lift it less than they would without your sale. What it avoids is the market sell: you never push the price down into the bids. Neither a price nor a fill is guaranteed.
Why does the ticket say the pool type isn't supported?
The token's pools have a hook that runs when liquidity is removed and that Unwind hasn't reviewed. Unwind only places liquidity in pools whose hook can't interfere with taking it out. Restrictions in the token itself are a separate risk.
Sell into demand.
Place your tokens above the price and let buyers take them. 0.5% only on what sells.
